Why I built Proofwriter

Proofwriter exists because “I wrote this myself” stopped being enough. AI detectors are guessing — they read a fingerprint and give you a probability, and they're wrong often enough that a false positive can cost someone a byline, a grade, or a contract. That's not a hypothetical; it's already happening to real writers.

I didn't want to build another detector, guessing from the outside. I wanted to build the opposite: a way to record the actual process of writing, as it happens, so there's real evidence to point to instead of an argument to have. Every checkpoint, every revision, the paste-flagging, the blockchain anchor — it's all there so an editor, a professor, or a skeptical reader doesn't have to take your word for it.
